Rinse Out Your Trash and Recycling Containers

Summer can bring out the worst in your trash and recycling containers. The heat raises the temperature of the carts and the smells can be a bit more than you can handle. Here’s an easy an inexpensive way to keep your containers clean. ( You will need to do this outside.) Empty your container of any residue and then add a cup of baking soda and a cup of white vinegar. The chemical reaction creates a foam that is one of the best natural cleaning agents around! Hose out your container with water and let dry. Baking soda and white vinegar also works on your kitchen drains to keep them smelling fresh!
